What is Family TreeXcel?

Family TreeXcel is a collection of Genealogy themed Excel workbooks, templates, and PDF files that can be used to easily create, organize, display, and share your family tree.

The Excel files are VBA and Macro enabled workbooks that will automate the Process.

Family TreeXcel files can be both standalone products AND companion pieces to just about any other Family Tree Software out there.

The files will allow you to:

Create & customize large, unique, and colorful charts (Fit to 1 page)
Create & customize complete Profiles of all ancestors
Summarize and Index all your Research and Media Files
Import & Export GEDCOM data
Index, Sort, and Filter your tree data

And so much more!

Future files are always in the works and can link to other files allowing for endless possibilities of charts and reports.

Who is Family TreeXcel?

My name is Mike and I have been researching my own Family Tree off and on for over 13 years.

I have tried and purchased just about every website and software related to Genealogy and Family Trees. And each time I was left wanting more in terms of the charts and displays.

I felt like I was just constantly re-inputting the same data over and over with no real end game to DISPLAY all my information & ORGANIZE the countless files I accumulated.

So I begin to make my own charts and reports in the program I was most familiar with, Microsoft Excel. This was very time consuming process and resulted in very little flexibility when changing the focus of charts.

To combat this problem, I learned (or at least I tried to) VBA Coding and Macros for Excel. This gave me the ability to automate all the manual charts and reports I was creating.

After years of learning formulas and code, fine tuning, troubleshooting, and reworks - Family TreeXcel was born.
