HELP - EXTRACT - TROUBLESHOOT

PASTE ERROR:

This pops up when you click on PASTE and certain markers are not found.

To fix this error make sure:

1. You properly INSTALLED the files.
2. You enabled macros for the file.
3. Your using Chrome or Edge internet browsers.
4. Your are on the correct SOURCE.
5. You selected and copied the entire image page.
6. Your following all the other rules for ANCESTRY or FAMILYSEARCH.

DATA IS DUPLICATED:

Sometimes data is listed on multiple image pages, particularly on FamilySearch.org records. Families that cross over census pages may display on both page index panes.

Therefore that data will be duplicated when extracted.

There is no recourse to prevent this. You will have to manually delete the duplicate rows from the table.

DATA DOESN'T MATCH THE IMAGE:

The actual data in the index is completely dependent on Ancestry's and FamilySearch's transcriptions.

The Extract file merely takes the respective indexes and moves it to an Excel table.

If their transcriptions are wrong then you will have to manually update the Excel file.

ALL OTHER ERRORS AND ISSUES:

The VBA code for the file relies on specific markers in the pasted data to work. Ancestry and FamilySearch can change their format at any time making the current code nonfunctional.

Therefore if you are sure you feel like you followed all the instructions and your still getting an error then please CONTACT me.

For faster assistance please provide the following in the email.

1. A specific description of the image/record and source your trying to extract (i.e. 1930 US Census, New York, Westchester, Bronxville, District 0120, page #3, Ancestry)

2. What internet browser your using.

3. What version of Excel your using.

4. Details on the error that is occurring.
