HELP - GEDCOM - FOLDER ICON

*This change is optional and is purely for cosmetic purposes.

You can use the icon file that is in the BACKUP subfolder to change the directory display. DIRECTORY

INSTRUCTIONS (WINDOWS):

1. Right click on the directory - then select "Properties"
2. Select the "Customize" tab at the top
3. Select the "Change Icon..." option
4. Choose the "Browse..." option
5. Navigate to the "BACKUP" subfolder and choose the "FT ICON.ico" file
6. Click "OK"
7. Click "Apply"
8. Click "OK"

*You may need to refresh or restart for the change to take place.

 

INSTRUCTIONS (MAC):

1. Single click to just highlight the "FT ICON.ico" file in the BACKUP subfolder
2. Copy the "FT ICON.ico" file by selecting the "EDIT" menu at the top and then select "COPY" (COMMAND + C = Keyboard shortcut).
3. Single click to just highlight the GEDCOM directory folder
4. On the top menu click on "FILE" then "GET INFO" (COMMAND + I = Keyboard shortcut).
5. Click on the small default folder icon at the top of the window to highlight it.
6. Paste the icon image by clicking on the "EDIT" menu at the top and select "PASTE" (COMMAND + V = Keyboard shortcut).

*You may need to refresh or restart for the change to take place.
