INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Download the acquired zip file via the instant download or email link.

*You can only use the download link ONCE.

2. Right click on the downloaded zip folder and select "Extract All..."

3. Extract the files from the zip folder to any LOCAL drive on your computer

* Do NOT extract and save the files to a cloud storage drive (i.e. OneDrive). Saving onto a USB flash drive should be fine.

*Once extracted the original zip folder will no longer be needed but should be kept as a backup if something goes wrong and you need to start the installation over.

4. Do NOT rearrange the directory or rename any of the subfolders after installing. See DIRECTORY for more details.  

5. When your ready to begin - open the Extract Excel workbook in the unzipped folder directory (A).

6. The workbook is a macro-enabled Excel file.  You must enable macros and content for the file to work (B).  

*All files obtained directly from Family TreeXcel are safe and free of malicious macros.

7. You can now extract data from an ANCESTRY or FAMILYSEARCH record to the Excel workbook.
